A recently published interactive chart by the Hamilton Project at the Brookings Institution illustrates earnings data from the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey. The earnings profiles are separated by educational major and broken out as annual earnings and lifetime earnings.

This set of charts (in part shown in the image above) illustrates quite nicely the earnings benefit in general of a bachelors degree and in particular of choosing a construction major. As shown in the image, a construction-related major’s 50th percentile income is 36% higher than the average across all undergrad majors. This increases even further if a graduate degree is pursued.
