We at BCT always love to hear what our alumni are doing. It was therefore very nice to see how successful two of our former students (from when we were called BMATWT) are at the local development and construction firm Integrity Development & Construction. Here are two features taken from recent press releases:

Anna Novey (BS ’04):

Anna_Novey_9.19.12Anna started working part time at Integrity in 2002 while completing her Bachelor of Science degree in Building Materials and Wood Technology at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She joined the company full time after graduating in 2004, growing her experience in all aspects of the trade as she perfected her role as project manager. She is a licensed construction supervisor and is LEAD Certified. In late 2012, Anna Novey joined into a business partnership with Peter Jessop and Heidi Flanders of Integrity Development & Construction, Inc., in Amherst, MA.

“I’ve grown up within the company,” Novey said, noting she started at Integrity while a sophomore in college. “I’ve always liked working here, and the transition to co-owner has been very smooth. We signed the papers, and we went back to work.”

Founded in 1994, Integrity is known throughout the Pioneer Valley for their innovative design/build solutions, fine craftsmanship and exceptional customer service. They specialize in new construction and renovation of residential and commercial projects. To see some of Anna’s work, visit the Integrity website at www.integbuild.com.

After living in one of the oldest homes in South Deerfield for seven years, Anna now lives in Shutesbury, MA with her partner Tim.

Kyle Belanger (BS ’08):

Kyle_web_150x150Kyle was majoring in Building Materials and Wood Technology at UMass Amherst when he began his building career at a local lumberyard. He spent a semester interning at Pioneer Valley Habitat for Humanity, before graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2008. During his years at the lumberyard, Kyle sharpened his skills in sales, estimating, and engineered wood design while forging strong relationships with customers and suppliers.

As project manager at Integrity, he guides clients through their projects’ design and building phases with the know-how gained from a good education, a solid work background, and hands-on experience. Kyle’s experience working with manufacturers over the years has been invaluable. He has a thorough knowledge of products and materials and keeps abreast of what’s new on the market. He’s able to provide our clients with a variety of options and cost comparisons to help them get the best quality products at a price that fits their budget. “In addition to his extensive product knowledge, Kyle is hard working and conscientious, always willing to go the extra mile to get the job done right. He is a great addition to the Integrity team,” remarked Heidi Flanders.

When asked what he likes most about his job, Kyle answered “I enjoy finding solutions to the unique challenges that arise in the renovation of an existing building. It’s always rewarding to fulfill a client’s unique building needs regardless of how the building was previously constructed.”

Kyle is a native of Belchertown, where he currently resides.
