Mathes Hulme Builders is a full-service construction company building new custom homes, renovations, additions, and historic restorations in southern Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. Our ideal candidates have a love of carpentry, their own transportation, safety gear and tools, are looking for long term employment, and have an interest in green and high performance building.

Apprentice Carpenter: We welcome individuals just starting in the construction industry with the desire to learn new skills and can provide on-the-job training. The role of the Apprentice is to execute a variety of manual jobsite tasks under the Lead Carpenter’s directives and the project schedule. The Apprentice is expected to coordinate effectively with all members of the jobsite crew, including trade contractors, and support the Lead Carpenter and other project team members as needed. They support the Lead Carpenter in maintaining a clean and well-organized jobsite. The compensation range for this position is $16-22/hour dependent upon abilities and experience. Benefits include paid holidays and vacation, retirement contribution, performance bonuses, and paid training to advance your skills. Requirements: a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation to the jobsite, and the ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
