Co-op Job Description

DN Tanks, LLC is a national specialty contractor that designs, constructs, retrofits, and rehabilitates concrete storage tanks throughout the United States and its territories. DN Tanks will bid and execute projects as a General Contractor with a larger scope of work (i.e., tank, pump station, piping, valve vault, fence, and sitework construction) and we will also work as a subcontractor. Our tanks are used in several applications including potable water, wastewater, thermal energy (TES), biofuels, glycol, fire protection, etc.

Construction Co-op Student – Roles and Responsibilities:

  • The Construction Co-Op is responsible for supporting Project Engineers and Project Managers in the successful execution of multiple tank projects.
  • Identify local concrete suppliers and put together pre-bid/post-bid pricing for concrete/shotcrete mixes.
  • Work with concrete suppliers to develop and trial batch concrete/shotcrete mix designs. Assist with putting together detailed submittals.
  • Develop AutoCAD site layout drawings showing cut/fill slopes, ramps, work roads, crane positions, and casting bed locations.
  • Coordinate with sitework, rebar, crane, and concrete subcontractors.
  • Perform jobsite pre-pour inspections with Project Engineers and Project Managers prior to concrete placements. There are also other opportunities to visit our local construction sites during precast panel erection.

Minimum Candidate Qualifications for All Co-op Positions

  • Currently enrolled in an Engineering or Construction Management undergraduate program. A concentration in Civil Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience working with CAD software (preferably AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel).
  • Good communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work assignments.
  • The ability to problem-solve in individual and team settings.
