Speaker: Steven J. Strong, President of Solar Design Associates, Inc.

Mr. Strong is President of Solar Design Associates, Inc., an Engineering and Architectural firm dedicated to environmentally responsive buildings and the engineering and integration of renewable energy systems to power them. Over the past 4 decades, Mr. Strong has earned the firm an international reputation for the pioneering integration of renewable energy systems with environmentally responsive building design, completing projects in the U.S., Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Canada, the Caribbean, and Latin America. The firm’s Zero-Net-Energy projects include a multi-story commercial office building in Seattle that meets the Living Building Challenge – hailed as the ‘Greenest Building on the Planet’ by the New York Times and, the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology – the largest project to receive LEED platinum and the first university to be designed from the ground up to be fully solar-powered. In 1999, TIME magazine named Mr. Strong an ‘Environmental Hero of the Planet’.
